Allenna Williams Ward More Popular Than Hillary Clinton

@ 08:36 PM (13 months, 22 days ago)

More Americans like the soon to be former school teacher than the former first lady.

95% OF AMERICANS FAVOR WILLIAMS

As usual Dick Morris has his finger on the pulse

It’s now obvious that Hillary Clinton’s negatives are rising among American voters. A Harris Interactive survey says that a majority will not vote for her, and a Gallup poll this week finds her favorability among Democratic primary voters dropping from 82 percent in January, to 74 percent in March.

By itself, this slippage would not be fatal. But it begs the key question: Why is Hillary dropping?

Usually a candidate only falls in the polls when she is attacked by her rivals, or is the object of a major scandal. Yet, Obama and Edwards are treating her with kid gloves — avoiding even the most gentile of criticisms. So noteworthy are their all-positive campaigns, that when Obama’s fund-raiser, David Geffen, knocked Bill for his pardons, it became the central campaign event in January.

And, for once in her life, Hillary is not currently on the griddle for any scandal. There are no daily exposes of her financial or Bill’s marital misconduct. Nobody is hitting Hillary.

The real bad news for her campaign is that Hillary is losing support — not due to any attacks on her, but because people are watching her wage her positive campaign, and are concluding that they just don’t like her.

It is Hillary’s own campaign appearances that are driving up her negatives!

That’s the worst possible news for a campaign. When your main instrument — the candidate — creates negatives in her wake, you’re in big trouble. You can always rebut an attack that comes in from the other side — but how do you fix things when your own candidate’s campaigning is building up her unfavorables?

Basically, voters are seeing that Hillary is a phony. With her posturing on Iraq, and her evasions of her previous positions in favor of the war, she sounds as contradictory and dissimulating as she is. To watch her try to explain her positions on the war is actually amusing. She voted for the war — but now claims she only wanted to strengthen the hands of the U.N. inspectors. She even supported it after she learned there were no WMDs, but now wants a total withdrawal of our troops — except for those she would leave there to keep the Iranians out and hunt down al Qaeda. She voted to cut off funds if the troops are not pulled out, but she doesn’t really want to cut off the funding, etc., etc...

No politician looks their best when they are evasive, and Hillary looks worse than most.

The Clinton campaign clearly is dying to switch Clintons, and feature the charismatic Bill and downplay the candidate herself. But the more they put the former president out there, the more people realize that Hillary ain’t Bill. In effect, voters are echoing Lloyd Bentsen’s famous put-down of Quayle in their 1984 vice presidential debate, when Dan tried to invoke the image of John Kennedy in his own defense. Americans this year are saying, “We know Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton is a friend of ours. And Hillary, you’re no Bill Clinton.”

Generally, when the son or daughter of a famous politician strikes out on his or her own, the old man fades into the background. President Bush-41 was noticeable absent while his son ran for his old job. Most politicians are anxious to avoid the comparison between their nascent skills, and the more developed and polished presentation of their fathers. But, by putting Bill out there next to Hillary, we are treated to a daily reminder of the huge difference between them.

He’s warm. She’s not. He’s funny. She’s not. He’s charismatic. Her circumstances are charismatic, but she, clearly, is not. Bill is intuitive. Hillary’s lips move as she dances — each step is right but there is no innate sense of rhythm or beat.

Bill Clinton has an infinite range of poses to strike on a public platform: charming, ingratiating, determined, empathetic, committed, sincere, humorous, angry, self-righteous. He can turn on whatever affect suits the purpose. But Hillary has only two gears — park and straight ahead. She knows nothing but direct, strident, shrill advocacy when a microphone is in her hand. On talk shows, she has managed to develop a charming, smiling, giggly persona. But after repeated exposure, it is wearing thin.

Air Leaking Out of Hillary's Bag According to Dick Morris

@ 09:37 AM (13 months, 22 days ago)

Kudos to Dick Morris:

Hillary is dying a slow death

THE DEMOCRATS:
‘ABH’ GAINS (ANYBODY BUT HILLARY)

Gore is up (a lot).
Edwards is up (a lot).
Obama is up (a little)….and Hillary is down.(a little)

That’s the message of the latest Gallup poll concluded over the weekend.

Since February, Hillary Clinton’s favorability has dropped from 82% to 80% to 74% while Edwards’ rose by ten points, driven by his classy performance in the face of Elizabeth’s illness. At the same time, Gores jumped by twelve points, propelled by his Oscar and anti-global warming campaign. Obama stayed fairly constant.

Here’s what’s happening:

Democratic Presidential Candidates’ Favorability

% Favorable

Feb 11 March 4 March 25

Clinton 82% 80% 74%
Obama 64 68 65
Gore 72 78 84
Edwards 61 63 71

In addition, Hillary’s lead over Obama has fallen since February from 48-23 to 35-22.  Gore gets 17% and Edwards is at 14%.

Preference For Democratic Nomination

Feb 11 March 4 March 25

Clinton 40% 36% 35%
Obama 21      22     22
Gore 14      18     17
Edwards  13       9     14

Hillary had 40% of the vote in February, and she’s slowly but steadily declined since then. While Hillary’s vote share only dropped by a point during March, her simultaneous eight point drop in favorability indicates that more bad news may be on the way for her. She’s not wearing well and she  seems to have difficulty moving up and out of her loyal base.

HILLARY V. OBAMA:

DEMOGRAPHICS vs. PERSONALITY

There is a major distinction in the basis for voter support for Hillary vs. Obama.

Hillary Clinton draws voters based on who they are.

Obama draws voters based on who he is.

That’s a big difference!

Hillary has a distinct demographic base while Obama has a more traditional political one.

The former first lady’s vote is anchored in her amazingly strong base of support among younger women, while Obama’s support is rooted in his image among all voters.  Both as a blessing and a curse, this phenomenon makes Hillary’s vote far more stable – unlikely to go up or down – than Obama’s.

Young women love Hillary and provide huge support for her. The extent of her dependence on this gender gap was illustrated graphically when Gallup combined its samples for January, February, and March to give it a sufficient number of respondents so as to make distinctions based on age and gender statistically significant.

The results are startling.  Hillary draws about as many men as women over the age of fifty.  But among younger voters, Hillary is the choice of 43% of women who are under fifty, but of only 27% of the men in the same age group.

HILLARY’S AGE AND GENDER GAP

Percent voting for Hillary

Men Women

Under 50 27% 43%
Over 50 34% 35%

Source: Gallup Poll
http://www.galluppoll.com/content/default.aspx?ci=26950

Unfortunately, Gallup did not analyze Hillary’s vote based on the marital status of the respondents.  Had they done so, they likely would have found an even greater disparity between married and single women than it found between younger and older female voters.  Most surveys show no difference between married men and single men in their voting habits.

But the point remains: Hillary’s vote is very dependent on demographics, while Obama’s is based on himself.

Whether that will ultimately help or hurt her remains to be seen.

We’ll be watching to see how that plays out.

HARRIS POLL: 50% WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR HILLARY

A Harris poll conducted between March 6-14, 2007 found more bad news for Hillary: Half of all of the adult respondents said that they would NEVER vote for her. Not only that, but 21% of the Democrats felt the same way.

More important – 48% of the Independents also said that they would never vote for her.

HILLARY FLIP-FLOPS  AGAIN ON IRAQ

When she returned from Iraq this winter, she said that she was not going to vote for a cutoff of funding for the war....

....but now she’s voted for the Senate version of the House bill to cut off funding for the war if troops are not out by March  08.

She said, at the same time, that she opposed a deadline for withdrawal....

...But the bill proposes just such a deadline.

She said, last week in a NY Times interview, that she would keep troops in Iraq for intelligence, training, and logistical support, air support, interdiction of Iranian infiltration, and pursuit of al Qaeda....

...But the bill just specifies intelligence, training, and air support, not the other missions.

Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

Giuliani's Wife Judith Nathan Also Married to Mitt Romney

@ 02:57 PM (13 months, 23 days ago)

The wife of former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani plunged the 2008 G.O.P. presidential contest into controversy today by revealing that she is also married to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

Judith Nathan had previously admitted to an undisclosed third marriage last week, but few political observers were prepared for her disclosure of a fourth, particularly to a man who is also a prominent candidate for the G.O.P nod.

At a press conference in New York, Ms. Nathan appeared before the media with Mr. Giuliani by her side as she revealed her marriage to the former Massachusetts governor.

“In addition to being married to Rudy, I am also married to Mitt,” she told the press, “I guess I kind of forgot.”  She went on to say, "It kind of doubles my shot at first lady."

While recognizing that her disclosure could complicate Mr. Giuliani’s bid for the G.O.P. nomination, she added, “I truly appreciate the love and support of my husband – and of my other husband, too.”

At Romney headquarters in Boston, aides to the former Massachusetts governor had no comment other than to say that Mr. Romney was conducting “a full inventory” of the wives he currently has.

Davis Logsdon, professor of political science at the University of Minnesota, said that Ms. Nathan’s admission that she is married to both Mr. Romney and Mr. Giuliani could boost another G.O.P. candidate: Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz).

“McCain stands to benefit from all of this, providing that he can definitively prove that he is not married to Judith Nathan,” he said.

Hillary Releases PC and Mac Software to Configure Your Opinion of Her to Be Favorable

@ 10:15 PM (13 months, 24 days ago)

8.0 means victory for Hillary in ’08.”

The New York senator told her supporters that the new software “will make me the very best Hillary you want me to be, whatever that happens to be.”

The software, compatible for both Mac and PC users, allows potential Hillary voters to configure their very own version of Sen. Clinton, choosing from over 57,000 positions on a variety of issues ranging from health care to immigration to the war in Iraq.

But according to one early user of the software, Tracy Klujian, 26, Hillary 8.0 is not without its technological glitches.

“I tried to download the software and my computer crashed,” Mr. Klujian said. “I didn’t have enough available memory to store all of those positions.”

But according to one campaign aide, even that tech problem could ultimately redound to Sen. Clinton’s advantage: “The average American doesn’t have enough memory, and that’s exactly what Hillary’s counting on.”

Ever Wonder Why It Makes Sense to Give Hillary and Other democrats the Finger?

The History Of the Middle Finger Well, now.......here's something I never knew before, and now that I know it, I feel compelled to send it on to my more intelligent Friends in the hope that they, too, will feel edified. Isn't history more fun when you know something about it?

Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating Victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger, it would be impossible to draw the renowned longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of native English Yew tree, and the act of Drawing the longbow was known as "plucking the yew" (or "pluck yew").

Much to be bewilderment of the French, the English won a major Upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew!

Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute!

SO NOW YOU KNOW WHY YOU ARE GETTING IT HILLARY, ET. AL.

It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as "giving the bird."

Fire U.S. Attorneys Offered Positions in Iraq by President Bush

@ 10:19 PM (13 months, 27 days ago)

Mr. Bush said that dispatching a surge of lawyers to Baghdad will be send a strong message to insurgents and terrorists that they can no longer take the law into their own hands.

“I have strongly felt for some time that we need more suits on the ground,” Mr. Bush said.

If all goes as planned, the eight prosecutors will be parachuted into Baghdad as early as this Wednesday, Mr. Bush told reporters, and could be prosecuting insurgents by Thursday.

While some in the White House press corps questioned if sending eight prosecutors to Iraq would really be enough to turn the tide of the war effort there, Mr. Bush said he already had plans to send additional lawyers if necessary.

“If those eight aren’t enough, I’ll send Hillary, Bill Jackie Chiles and John Edwards,” he said.

France National Space Studies Center (CNES) to Put UFO Archives Online

@ 08:39 AM (13 months, 29 days ago)

The French space agency is to publish its archive of UFO sightings and other phenomena online, but will keep the names of those who reported them off the site to protect them from pestering by space fanatics.

Jacques Arnould, an official at the National Space Studies Center (CNES), said the French database of around 1,600 incidents would go live in late January or mid-February.

He said the CNES had been collecting statements and documents for almost 30 years to archive and study them.

"Often they are made to the Gendarmerie, which provides an official witness statement ... and some come from airline pilots," he said by telephone.

Given the success of films about visitations from outer space like "E.T.", "Close Encounters of The Third Kind" and "Independence Day", the CNES archive is likely to prove a hit.

It consists of around 6,000 reports, many relating to the same incident, filed by the public and airline professionals. Their names would not be published to protect their privacy, Anould said.

Advances in technology over the past three decades had prompted the decision to put the archive online, he said, adding it would likely be available via the CNES website www.cnes.fr.

Iraqis Angry That U.S. Forgot Anniversary of War
Shiites, Sunnis Enraged Over Absence of Flowers

Iraqi citizens, already furious at the United States for a host of issues, are now miffed that the U.S. apparently forgot the fourth anniversary of the war there, sources said today.

Across the war-torn nation, Iraqis expressed a range of emotions from dismay to outright anger at the U.S. for failing to recognize the fourth anniversary of the March 2003 invasion.

And while Sunnis and Shiites have found little to agree about as sectarian violence has surged in recent weeks, they both seemed in accord about one thing today: the United States should have at least sent flowers.

“A fourth anniversary is a big deal, and it should have been marked with a tasteful bouquet,” said Tikrit resident Hassan El-Medfaai, 47. “Apparently, this anniversary means a lot more to us than it does to them.”

At the White House, aides were scrambling to make amends with the Iraqi people over the apparent omission, with President Bush reportedly suggesting that the U.S. send an “I Wuv You” bear and a Mylar balloon with the words “Mission Accomplished” on it.

But in an interview on Fox News, Vice President Dick Cheney defended the U.S.’s failure to recognize the anniversary, telling reporters, “When we invaded four years ago, the Iraqis didn’t greet us with flowers, either.”

Iran's Ahmadinejad Declares War on 300 Spartans - Nuclear Weapons in Play

@ 09:01 PM (14 months, 2 days ago)

In what foreign policy experts believe to be a direct response to the hit movie “300,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today declared war on Sparta.

Even for the mercurial Mr. Ahmadinejad, the move struck many diplomatic insiders as extraordinary, since the consensus in the international community is that the city-state of Sparta no longer exists.

But according to a close associate of Mr. Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president’s thoughts turned to war after seeing a matinee showing of “300” this past Saturday at the Tehran Cineplex 12.

“He was hopping mad at the way the Spartans kicked the Persians’ butts,” the aide said. “I haven’t seen him this angry since he saw that thing with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.”

At a press conference in Tehran today, President Ahmadinejad directed his most barbed comments at the 300 Spartan warriors depicted in the film.

“So you think you are a match for the entire Persian army?” Mr. Ahmadinejad said. “Well, let’s see if you’re a match for Iran’s nuclear program!”

Hours after the Iran president issued his taunt, however, White House spokesman Tony Snow pounced on the remarks, claiming that they were proof that Iran’s nuclear program was not as peaceful as Mr. Ahmadinejad has purported.

But Mr. Ahmadinejad rebutted Mr. Snow’s charges, telling reporters in Tehran, “We have been building a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes only, but now we plan to drop that peaceful reactor on top of those damned Spartans.”

What real Conservatives want is a 2008 Presidential candidate who is a leader.  A person who expresses real opinions, not wishy washy thoughts based on a perception of what people may want to hear.

Fred Thompson may be the man.

Thompson, who was also a Watergate prosecutor, had previously discouraged suggestions he run. But he is now considering the race, amid indications his conservative record combined with a blue-collar, pickup-truck appeal, to independents and moderate Democrats might make him the right guy at the right time.

If he runs -- at least on paper -- Thompson has the potential to win the Republican nomination and the White House, unlike the other non-front-runners, who for one reason or another appear unlikely to make the cut as presidential material.

He could run as a common sense Washington outsider with Ronald Reagan class communications skills, Thompson's  celebrity means his face recognition is unusually high and very favorable.

A Blog - What is it?

@ 07:52 AM (14 months, 2 days ago)

One thing a blog is not is a series of TV transcripts.  Today, there are a number of blogs that simply paste in verbatim something from TV (usually copied from another blog or webpage).  Other blogs reword things from TV portraying their own rewording as what was actually said.  In both cases, rather than what was said on TV allowed to be what was sent, the alleged bloggers doing this put a spin on reality to suit their own political and or social agenda.  Obviously the reworders who try to trick their few readers into believing their version is what was really said are the sneakiest skanks.  All bloggers who use spins on that they read was said on TV are intellectually lazy, don't bother to explore facts and simply take the least amount of time to broadcast their prejudices.  I don't need some amateur agenda driven rehash of what happens on TV.  If I'm interested I have a TV.  If I'm interested and busy I have a TV and tivo.

A Blog author is someone capable of framing a logical argument using their own original words.  Anyone familiar with these sorts of blogs?  Personally I think they are trash.  Some Blog authors may not use great spelling or may have less than the greatest command of the English language but do have original ideas.  Those Blogs are worth reading.  The first type are simply something to have to sift through to get to quality.

March Madness NCAA Tournament Deemed Politically Incorrect

@ 08:23 PM (14 months, 3 days ago)

Under Pressure from National Institute of Mental Health

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) stunned the sports world today by announcing that its annual college basketball tournament, known to its fans as March Madness, will henceforth be known as March Bipolar Disorder.

The name-change, which both surprised and outraged devotees of the annual ritual, came after the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) demanded that the NCAA drop the “Madness” tag.

While fans across the country argued that “March Bipolar Disorder” did not have the same ring to it, a spokesperson for the NIMH said today that the new name was “more clinically accurate.”

“Each year, the tournament produces extreme mood swings in both its players and its fans,” said spokesperson Carol Foyler. “In our view, those symptoms are consistent with bipolar disorder.”

Even as tournament purists complained that the NCAA had caved in to the medical community, sports marketing expert Colby Teague said that the name-change could open the door to new sponsorship opportunities from the manufacturers of bipolar disorder medications, such as Eli Lilly.

Bob Novak Predicts Hillary Campaign Implosion

@ 04:30 PM (14 months, 5 days ago)

While Hillary Rodham Clinton came out second best to Barack Obama in their long-range oratorical duel at Selma, Ala., the real problem with her visit there a week ago concerned her March 4 speech's claim of her attachment to Martin Luther King Jr. as a high school student in 1963. How, then, could she be a "Goldwater girl" in the next year's presidential election?

The incompatibility of those two positions of 40 years ago was noted to me by Democratic old-timers shocked by Clinton's temerity in pursuing her presidential candidacy. Barry Goldwater's opposition to the 1964 voting rights bill was not incidental to his run for the White House but an integral element of conscious departure from GOP tradition that contributed to his disastrous performance.

Speaking at Selma's First Baptist Church on the 42nd anniversary of the "bloody Sunday" freedom march there, Clinton declared: "As a young girl [age 16], I had the great privilege of hearing Dr. King speak in Chicago. The year was 1963. My youth minister from our church took a few of us down on a cold January night to hear [King]. ... And he called on us, he challenged us that evening to stay awake during the great revolution that the civil rights pioneers were waging on behalf of a more perfect union."

Young Hillary Rodham answered that challenge the next year as the 17-year-old class president at Maine East High School in the Chicago suburbs. She described herself in her memoirs as "an active Young Republican" and "a Goldwater girl, right down to my cowgirl outfit." As a politically attuned honor student, she must have known that Goldwater was one of only six Republican senators who joined southern Democratic segregationists opposing the historic Voting Rights Act of 1964 inspired by King.

While Clinton was re-inventing her past, her campaign was shaken by the first serious, public Democratic criticism of the Clintons since the 1992 presidential campaign. The sharp rebuke of Hollywood producer David Geffen, an erstwhile Clinton friend now backing Obama, was approved unanimously by a campaign conference call. Bill Clinton was not on that call, but the former president, described by Democratic sources as "incandescent" over Geffen's remarks, recommended the harsh response.

Hillary Clinton's road to the White House is not going as planned. Instead of a steady procession to coronation at the Denver convention, she is involved in a real struggle against credible opponents led by Obama. No wonder she and her handler were tempted to imply the existence long ago of a teenager in Chicago's suburbs who never really existed.

Plame is no American hero.  She is the person at the moment the democrats are using as a weapon to cheap shot the Administration.  Plame meanwhile is gearing up for her Playboy centerfold spread.  The TRUTH is she is a liar.  She has conveniently been trying the play word games claiming she was 'covert' and exposed.  The correct term is undercover.  She was never undercover.  The spin shows the lie.

Belinda Stronach Outpolls Hillary

@ 07:27 PM (14 months, 7 days ago)

As potential girlfriends go, Belinda Stronach would rank as a true catch. She is single, youngish (she just turned 40), attractive, wealthy, impeccably well-connected and politically ambitious - glamorous in every respect. Two years ago, Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most powerful people on the planet. The tabloids cut to the chase: they called her the "blonde bombshell" or "Bubba's blonde."

LOOKS LIKE HILLARY LOSES YET AGAIN

Bubba, of course, is Bill Clinton. He has been photographed with Stronach several times. The sightings seem to be getting more frequent.  Clinton would be nuts not to take this ride.  Hillary who?

Hillary Hires Jay Leno as Press Secretary

@ 08:06 PM (14 months, 9 days ago)

Well, the big story -- Hillary Clinton will be running for president in
2008.  You know why I think she's running? I think she finally wants to see
what it's like to sleep in the president's bed." -- Jay Leno

"Hillary Clinton said that her childhood dream was to be an Olympic athlete,
but she was not athletic enough. She said she wanted to be an astronaut, but
at the time they didn't take women.  She said she wanted to go into
medicine, but hospitals made her woozy.  Should she be telling people this
story?  I mean she's basically saying she wants to be president because she
can't do anything else." -- Jay Leno

"Did you know Bill and Hillary Clinton were born under the same
sign? Know what sign?   'For Sale .'  " -- Jay Leno

"A student from the University of Washington has sold his soul on eBay for
$400.  He's a law student, so he probably doesn't
need it.   But still, that's not very much. Today, Hillary Clinton
said,  'Hey, at least I got some furniture and a Senate seat for mine'." --
Jay Leno

"Hillary Clinton said today that she wants legislation to allow  all
ex-felons to vote. See, this way all the Clinton 's former  business
partners can vote for her in 2008." --Jay Leno

"In a fiery speech this weekend, Hillary Clinton wondered why President Bush
can't find the tallest man in Afghanistan . Probably for the same reason she
couldn't find the fattest
intern under the desk." -- Jay Leno

"Former President Bill Clinton said that if his wife, Hillary, is elected
president, he will do whatever she wants. You know Bill Clinton -- when he
makes a vow to Hillary, you can take that to the bank."  -- Jay Leno

Braunschweig, Germany Undoes Hitler's Citizenship

@ 10:21 PM (14 months, 10 days ago)

A regional branch of one of Germany's main political parties is planning a legal bid to have Adolf Hitler posthumously stripped of his German citizenship.

Some 75 years after Braunschweig (Brunswick) enabled the then stateless Hitler to get German citizenship, Social Democrats (SPD) in the state that now incorporates the former statelet want to strip the Nazi dictator of his nationality.

Simon Kopelke, parliamentary spokesman for the SPD in the state of Lower Saxony said on Monday, "It's what Braunschweig wants."

"Who would want Hitler to have wormed his way into citizenship in their home city, of all places?"

"Hitler is no longer a German.  A German did not create the Nazi party.  A German was not the Fuhrer.  A German did not exterminate Jews.  A German did not start or lose World War II.  Therefore, France is responsible for World War II.  Germany is undefeated in wars beginning after 1920."

Hillary Clinton Resigns,Withdraws from Presidential Race - Gonzales Now a Presidential Candidate

@ 08:28 PM (14 months, 10 days ago)

In a stunning turn of events, Clinton has totally bailed from politics.  "Initially I thought Alberto Gonzales should resign as Attorney General.  Today I have rethought the last 50 years of my life and realize that at heart I am a Goldwater Conservative Republican.  What happened was a result of Yale brainwashing.  Thanks to finally being on the right mental health drugs the fog has lifted.  I am retiring and private life, exploring my sexual issues, divorcing Bill and endorsing Alberto Gonzales as the next President of the United States."

"THIS PILL HAS FINALLY MADE ME A HAPPY PERSON.  BY MY SIMPLY TAKING THIS PILL, THE LIVES

OF HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF AMERICANS WILL BE IMPROVED IMMEASURABLY."

Lithium, just plain lithium (as a salt), has been used for decades as a treatment for manic-depressive disorders and other illnesses that effect the affect. There aren't very many elements that are used as medical treatments (other than as nutritional supplements like iron and calcium). Two examples, with links to articles about their uses, are carbon (legitimate) and phosphorus (historical). Although the pills actually contain a lithium salt (lithium carbonate), it is the simple lithium that does the work. One theory is that because it is in the same column in the periodic table as sodium and potassium (all are alkali metals), it is able to stand in for them in their important role in the transmission of nerve impulses. By modifying in some poorly understood way how nerve signals propagate, lithium just happens to calm mood swings.

Bill Clinton Book Highlights Hillary's Lies - Dick Morris Knows It!

Hillary's Experience — Ask Bill (He Doesn't Remember It)

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on FoxNews.com on March 9, 2007.

Is Hillary Clinton the Walter Mitty of presidential candidates when she takes credit for the successes of her husband's presidency?

Lately, she's been repeatedly linking herself to Bill's job creation, budget balancing, economic programs and domestic policies initiatives. There's a lot of “Bill and I” and "we” in her speeches. It's all part of the “bring back the Clinton years” theme that she rolls out to Democratic Party audiences.

But there's more to it.

At the core of her highly disciplined campaign message is her claim that her “experience” in the White House and the Senate makes her uniquely qualified to move right into the Oval Office. According to Hillary, her two term co-presidency with Bill specially prepared her for the next Clinton administration and gives her exceptional credentials that no other candidate can match.

And her message is working — the most recent Gallup Poll shows that 45 percent of American voters cite Hillary's “experience” as the highest positive rating about her.

Out on the campaign trail, she often refers to her “eight years in the White House,” when asked why she should be elected.

So, what exactly was it that Hillary did in the Clinton White House that gave her all of that experience?

Well, obviously there was the health care fiasco, Hillary's secretive, expensive and utterly failed attempt to socialize the health care industry. Surely, she can't be referring to that.

So what is it that Hillary is referring to?

One would think that the $20 million combined memoirs of the former first couple could provide some clarification. But a careful reading of their respective stories leads to even more confusion. One wonders whether they ever read each other's work.

It seems that in her book "Living History," published in 2003, the former first lady doesn't really claim to have been an influential co-president working and learning at her husband's side after all.

No, that's all new.

And most of what she does take credit for involves traditional first lady issues, such as childcare and cancer research. She barely mentions any role for herself in the signature issues that confronted the Clinton presidency.

If you contrast her current claims of helping to run the country against her own writing about her White House days, there's a big difference. Now she speaks of the Clinton administration accomplishments, as if she were part of implementing them. But only four years ago, she told another story.

Bill doesn't seem to recall her help and involvement on too many issues. Even on those relatively few things that she actually does take credit for in her book, the former president doesn't have the same recollections that she does about her important role in the White House.

In her book, Hillary discusses her advocacy in the White House on social security, welfare reform, the bankruptcy reform bill, violence in the media, budget cuts and improvement in the Family and Medical Leave Act.

But, in his memoirs, Bill rarely mentions Hillary's role in any of his administration's policies, except for health care. One would have expected that he would have described some of the details of her unparalleled 'experience.'

In fact, of 102 mentions of Hillary in Bill Clinton's "My Life", the content is as follows:

• 34 entries describe trips taken by the first couple
• 26 entries are about Whitewater or other scandal investigations
• 17 entries are about their personal relationship
• 11 entries are about Hillary's integrity, character, her writing a book, supporting American crafts, etc.
• Nine entries describe her role in health care
• Only five entries concern a substantive role, including: participating in a White House staff gathering at Camp David; speaking out for women's rights in China; campaigning for child protection legislation; and campaigning for Democratic candidates, and the Millennium Project

That's it!

Here's some examples of how Hillary catalogued some of her work and how Bill described the same issue:

Welfare Reform : “I supported welfare reform and worked hard to round up the votes.”

Bill makes no mention of her role concerning that important issue.

Media Violence and Children :“Bill and I … convened a White House strategy session on how to curb media violence directed at children.”

Bill remembers it somewhat differently, crediting Al and Tipper Gore with a drive to get V chips in televisions. No mention of Hillary.

Budget Cuts :“I also spent two years helping … Stave off cuts in legal services, the arts, education, Medicare and Medicaid.”

Bill makes no mention of Hillary in discussing the budget cuts.

Adoption Reform :“I worked hard … to spearhead adoption reform.”

Bill writes about how proud he was about his “sweeping reforms of our adoption laws.” No mention of Hillary.

Child Support : “Bill and I wanted tougher child support collection efforts.”

Bill describes signing another of his priorities into law. No mention of Hillary.

And so on.

So, is Hillary a Walter Mitty character who imagined herself as the effective and hard-working co-president of the United States, while she was actually marginalized and uninvolved in any important policy making?

Or was she really a strong co-president who wasn't given the proper credit by her husband in his book, and was too modest to write about it in her own book?

We'll leave the answer up to you.
