It turns out that the Attorney General was not a scapegoat after all.  Mr. Gonzales is headed to bigger and better things.  As usual, President Bush has a master plan.  So the democrats who are laughing now won't be laughing when dealing with Judge Gonzales and won't be laughing when dealing with the new Attorney General, John Daly.

Zbigniew Brzezinski, one of the most influential foreign-policy experts in the Democratic Party, threw his support behind Barack Obama's presidential candidacy, saying the Illinois senator has a better global grasp than his chief rival, Hillary Clinton.  "Hillary is dumb as a rock.  It's all smoke and mirrors". 

``Obama is clearly more effective and has the upper hand,'' Brzezinski, who was President Jimmy Carter's national security adviser, said. ``He has a sense of what is historically relevant, and what is needed from the United States in relationship to the world.''

Brzezinski, 79, dismissed the notion that Clinton, 59, a New York senator and the wife of former President Bill Clinton, is more seasoned than Obama, 46. ``Being a former first lady doesn't prepare you to be president,'' Brzezinski said.  "The shrew isn't even qualified to clean by bathroom."

Clinton's foreign-policy approach is "very conventional,'' Brzezinski said. "I don't think the country needs to go back to what we had eight years ago.'' 

"There is a need for a fundamental rethinking of how we conduct world affairs,'' he added.  "And Obama seems to me to have both the guts and the intelligence to address that issue and to change the nature of America's relationship with the world.''

Negotiating With Foes

Brzezinski also sided with Obama, who was criticized by Clinton as being "irresponsible'' and "naive" for saying he would meet in his first year as president with leaders of adversaries such as Iran and Syria.  "What's the hang-up about negotiating with the Syrians or with the Iranians?'' Brzezinksi said. "What it in effect means'' is "that you only talk to people who agree with you.''

Howard Wolfson, a spokesman for the Clinton campaign, had no comment on Brzezinski's remarks.  Not enough time to run it through the spin doctoring blender.  Duh...the dude's right.  Hillary is washed up old fashioned fuddy duddy hag getting older by the nanosecond.

To many, he was “Bush’s Brain,” the master tactician who would stop at nothing to advance the political agenda of George W. Bush.

But to a growing number of experts within the Beltway and beyond, a more sinister portrait is emerging of former White House political advisor Karl Rove: a man who achieved his record-shattering results only by using steroids.

“The question isn’t whether or not Karl Rove was juicing,” says Davis Logsdon, a University of Minnesota professor who studies steroid use among White House political advisors. “The question is, exactly how much was he juicing?”

In building his case that Mr. Rove used performance-enhancing drugs during his years in the Bush White House, Mr. Logsdon compares his record in Texas, where he was an above-average political advisor, to his tenure in Washington, where he became a pumped-up superstar.

“In Texas, Rove only succeeded in getting a governor elected, but in Washington, he organized the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, staged the ‘Mission Accomplished’ photo-op, and outed a CIA agent,” Mr. Logsdon says. “There’s only one way to explain the surge in performance: steroids.”

And Mr. Logsdon suspects that steroids may have also played a role in the 2000 presidential election, in which Mr. Rove engineered a victory for Mr. Bush even though he received fewer votes than former Vice President Al Gore.

“If Rove was using steroids during all that, then the 2000 election has to go down in the record books with an asterisk,” he says.

BUSY ELSEWHERE????

The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman.  Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association.  The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist.  The group had complained the cartoons were "hate speech."  Enter Professor Wichman.  In his e-mail, he said the following:

Dear Muslim Association:

As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU, I intend to protest your protest.  I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like be-headings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called"whores" in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris, France.  This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues.

I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Muslims to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile "protests."  If you do not like the values of the West -- see the 1st Amendment -- you are free to leave.  I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option.  Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like this too well.  They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all  ;freshmen.  Now the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray.  CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion.

For its part, the university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman, saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly condemn his remarks. 

American citizens in their own country suffer more deaths via illegal aliens in the United States annually than combat soldiers in Iraq. 
 
U.S. House Representative Newt Gingrich said, “There is a war here at home, and it is even more deadly than the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Far more Americans are being killed by violent, evil people here in America than in our official military "combat zones" overseas.” 
 
Terry Anderson, Los Angeles radio talk show host, theterryandersonshow.com, while speaking on the Peter Boyles Show this week, said, ”People here in LA are getting executed because of their race. Where are the black leaders on this? If those black students in Newark were killed by a white man, Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be marching in the streets. If we don’t put a hold on this invasion, it’s going to get worse and worse. If we don’t get a handle on this, it can and will get worse in Newark because the numbers are driven by illegal immigration…when Hispanics took over in South Central LA, race riots against blacks began. They took over Martin Luther King Day and Black History Month. It’s now 96 percent Hispanics (Mexicans).” 
 
Last week, three college bound students in Newark, New Jersey suffered execution-style killings by two illegal aliens—made possible by the “Sanctuary Policy.” 
 
In 1979, Police Chief Daryl Gates of Los Angeles instituted a “Sanctuary Policy” known as Special Order 40. That decree allowed illegal aliens immunity from law enforcement. No matter how heinous their crimes, their immigration status could not be determined, which meant they could not be deported. It created an avalanche of ‘protected’ and ‘ignored’ crime. It mandated two-tiered justice. 
 
“New Jersey was already in the news for its failure to protect its citizens from illegal aliens when the federal government arrested six would-be terrorists for plotting to kill U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix,” Gingrich said. “We learned that three of them had been illegally in the U.S. for 23 years, during which they had been charged by the local New Jersey police more than 75 times. And still, our intrepid local law-enforcement and justice bureaucrats never discovered they were here illegally.” 
 
As you can see “Sanctuary Policy” denies application of the ‘rule of law’ to illegal aliens. From that policy, aliens now command ID forgery networks that give them new identities, social security cards, green cards, birth certificates, drug smuggling gangs, people smuggling, child sex rings and unlimited drunk driving without driver’s licenses or insurance. Maryland and Oregon hand out driver’s licenses to illegal aliens like cotton candy. Big question: what if those Fort Dix six had succeeded in killing 100 or 500 U.S. soldiers on the base? Who would take responsibility? 
 
In reality, what has sanctuary policy created? Greater than 20 million illegal aliens now operate lawlessly within America. 
 
Today, dozens of cities practice “Sanctuary Policy.” City councils voted that policy into law in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Newark, New York, Miami, Detroit, Denver, Atlanta, Houston and Portland--and dozens more give immunity from prosecution for illegal aliens. 
 
Ed Koch, Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg of New York City, Chicago’s Daley, Denver’s Hickenlooper and Webb--and most big city mayors endorse the policy. Bush I, Clinton and Bush II support sanctuary with non-enforcement of our borders. 
 
Result? Thousands of Americans have died since 1979 via the policy. Illegal aliens bombed the WTC in 1993. More illegal aliens and visa over-stayers drove planes into the World Trade Center killing 3,000 Americans. Again, aided by George W. Bush for not enforcing our laws (some speculate he knew about it like FDR knew about Pearl Harbor). Illegal Melvo shot 10 Americans from the trunk of his car in the DC area in 2002. Illegals shot to death Denver officer Don Young and Dallas officer Brian Jackson in 2005. 
 
Last week, illegal Jose Carranza and his side-kick MS-13 gangbanger Rodolfo Godinez executed three black students in a parking lot. How could they do it? They enjoyed “Sanctuary Policy” while both sported rap sheets as long as a football field. Those criminals benefited from protection against deportation. 
 
In Los Angeles, Mexican gang members declared ‘ethnic cleansing zones’ in specific parts of the city where they dominate. Last year, a 14 year old black girl wandered into one of those zones. They killed her. 
 
When illegal alien criminals commit horrendous murders that demand lawful detention and trial, they finally go to prison. Result? Illegal alien convicts make up 29 percent of our prison population at $1.6 billion annually. Folks, that’s over 500,000 illegal alien prisoners! 
 
That means at least 500,000 Americans suffered rapes, killings, drug deaths, drunken driving deaths, theft and worse from the illegals. 
 
Does any U.S. Senator with a three digit IQ understand that our citizens suffer, endure and die at the hands of the “Sanctuary Policy”? Why would city councils across the nation enact it? Why would Governor Baldacci of Maine and Oregon’s governor promote sanctuary?

Americans know that Nancy Pelosi and the democrat Congress have been failures so far this year.  Chimps think they are failures too.  Anyone with eyes knows Pelosi is a barker.  Anyone with ears knows Pelosi is a liar.

In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Wednesday, 55 percent of those questioned say the democrat-controlled Congress has been a failure.  democrats won temporary control Congress in last year's midterm elections.

Frustration with the war in Iraq was considered one of the main reasons for the democrats' victory last November. But so far, congressional democrats have failed to alter the president's course of action in Iraq and not kept a single campaign promise.  DUH...like that's a surprise.

A Morgantown man, his mother and his friend are suing McDonald's for $10 million.  The man says he bit into a hamburger and had a severe allergic reaction to the cheese melted on it.  Right, a severe reaction with total medical bills of $700.  It COSTS $700 to park in the ER lot.

Jeromy Jackson, who is in his early 20s, says he clearly ordered two Quarter Pounders without cheese at the McDonald's restaurant in Star City before heading to Clarksburg.  He neglects to mention that he already had a quarter pounder stuffed in his mouth while ordering. His mother Trela Jackson and friend Andrew Ellifritz are parties to the lawsuit because they say they risked their lives rushing Jeromy to United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.  A couple of problems with that:  1.  Doubtful their lives have any value.  2.  Hello....that's what police and emt's and ambulances do you jackasses.

The lawsuit alleges Jeromy "was only moments from death" or serious injury by the time he reached the hospital.  "We're interested in seeing McDonald's take responsibility and change a systemic quality control problem that endangers the lives of up to 12 million Americans with allergies," said Timothy Houston, the Morgantown lawyer representing the plaintiffs.   THAT jackass is interested in camera face time and a financial shakedown.

Houston said his clients were in Morgantown in October 2005 and stopped at the Star City McDonald's on the way home to Clarksburg. Jeromy Jackson was living with his mother at the time.  Poor little mama's boy.  Why didn't his mommy who should know about his alleged allergies do the ordering?  Did she have TWO quarter pounders in her mouth?  Did hers have cheese?  Perhaps Jeromy's mommy mixed things up and gave hers with cheese to the poor baby.

After getting the food, the three drove to Clarksburg and started to eat the food in a darkened room where they were going to watch a porno movie, Houston said.  Jeromy took one bite and started having the reaction, Houston said. One of the three immediately called the McDonald's to let restaurant employees know they had messed up the order, but had to cut the call short when Jeromy started having a bad reaction, Houston said.  Gee why not call the paramedics?  Oh wait....gotta set up the lawsuit then "risk their lives" going to the hospital.

John Edwards and Hillary Clinton condemned McDonald's.  Bill texted Hillary to pick him up two Big Macs on her way home.

In their latest demonstration of how much they love the troops, liberals have produced yet another anti-war hoax.

The New Republic has been running "true war" stories from a brave, anonymous liberal penning dispatches from Iraq. The famed "Baghdad Diarist" described his comrades joyfully using Bradley fighting vehicles to crush stray dogs, mocking a female whose face had been blown off by an IED, and defacing Iraqi corpses by wearing skull parts on their own heads.

Various conservatives began questioning the plausibility of the anonymous diarist's account -- noting, for example, that Bradley vehicles don't "swerve," as the diarist claimed. The editor of The New Republic responded by attacking the skeptics' motives, complaining that some conservatives make "a living denying any bad news that emanates from Iraq."

But when that clever retort failed to quiet rumblings from the right wing, The New Republic finally revealed the "Baghdad Diarist" to be ... John Kerry! Actually it was Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp, Democratic candidate for president circa 2028. (That gives him 20 years to learn to pronounce "Genghis.")

In revealing himself two weeks ago, Beauchamp lashed out at "people who have never served in Iraq." He said he was too busy fighting "an actual war" to participate in "an ideological battle that I never wanted to join."

He had tried to stay out of ideological battles by writing made-up articles in a national magazine claiming soldiers in Iraq had become callous beasts because of George Bush's war, killing to "secure the riches of the empire." Alas, this proved an ineffective method of keeping his head low. Beauchamp's next bid for privacy will be an attempt to host "The Price Is Right."

In response to Beauchamp's revelation that he was the "Baghdad Diarist," the military opened an investigation into his allegations. There was no corroboration for his stories, and Beauchamp promptly signed an affidavit admitting that every single thing he wrote in The New Republic was a lie.

According to The Weekly Standard's Michael Goldfarb -- who has led the charge of those who "make a living denying any bad news that emanates from Iraq" -- Maj. Steven F. Lamb, the deputy public affairs officer for Multi-National Division-Baghdad, said this of the Baghdad diarist:

"An investigation has been completed and the allegations made by Pvt. Beauchamp were found to be false. His platoon and company were interviewed and no one could substantiate the claims."

In response, The New Republic went into full Dan Rather loon mode. This astonishing post showed up on The New Republic Web site on Tuesday afternoon:

"A STATEMENT ON SCOTT THOMAS BEAUCHAMP:

"We've talked to military personnel directly involved in the events that Scott Thomas Beauchamp described, and they corroborated his account as detailed in our statement. When we called Army spokesman Maj. Steven F. Lamb and asked about an anonymously sourced allegation that Beauchamp had recanted his articles in a sworn statement, he told us, 'I have no knowledge of that.' He added, 'If someone is speaking anonymously (to The Weekly Standard), they are on their own.' When we pressed Lamb for details on the Army investigation, he told us, 'We don't go into the details of how we conduct our investigations.' -- The Editors"

It's good to see Mary Mapes is working again.

What on earth is going on? Either the military investigation found that Beauchamp lied or it didn't. Either military personnel corroborated stories of soldiers wearing skulls as crowns or they didn't. Either Army spokesman Maj. Steven Lamb gave a statement to The Weekly Standard or he didn't.

At the same time as The New Republic was posting the above statement, which completely contradicted The Weekly Standard's update, renowned right-wing news outlet ABC News confirmed that the military has concluded that Beauchamp was writing "fiction." ABC also quoted Goldfarb's account and said that Maj. Lamb reiterated his statement that Beauchamp's stories were false to ABC. The New York Times had the same story on Wednesday.

The New Republic has gone mad. Perhaps the magazine brought its former employee, fantasist Steven Glass, out of retirement. It's long past time for The New Republic to file for intellectual Chapter 7. Arthur Andersen was implicated in fewer frauds.

And we wonder how Democratic congressmen can lie about a vote they lost on the floor of the House -- captured on CSPAN for all the world to see -- changing the vote so that they win.

America's imminent victory in Iraq and safety from terrorist attacks at home is driving them all crazy.

The creatures born without backbones were a menace.  Spain has launched a campaign to investigate and collect a plague of weaseling politicians on its coastline, and so far has collected eight tons of them, the Environment Ministry said on Tuesday.

"A vigilance network has been created to detect banks of democrats and predict their possible arrival on beaches and eradicate them on a timely basis," the ministry said in a statement.

In a phenomenon that occurs every year in the month before Labor Day, national columnists across America file pointless, content-free “filler” columns, enabling the lazy scribes to hit the beach earlier, according to observers who have been following this trend.

The “filler” columns are churned out in a matter of minutes with no loftier goal than meeting a deadline and filling up space -- meaning that columnists will often resort to using the same words or phrase again and again and again and again and again.

And rather than doing any original writing, the slothful columnists will rely on so-called “experts” to supply them with quotes to fill up space, experts say.

“They'll often quote people you've never heard of,” says Harold Crimmins, an expert in the field of filler columns. “It's pretty shameless.”

The typical “filler” column is often a reprint of a previously published column, but the writer will later plug in one cursory reference to current events, such as the DUI arrest of actress Lindsay Lohan, to disguise this fact.

And in order to fill up space even faster, Crimmins says, the lazy beach-bound columnist will compose his summer “filler” columns with short paragraphs.

Many of these paragraphs will be as short as one sentence, he says.

“Or shorter,” he adds.

There are other telltale signs a reader can look for in order to determine whether a writer has, in fact, filed a so-called “filler” column, according to Crimmins.

One of these is a tendency to repeat information that the reader has already read earlier in the article, with columnists even stooping to using the same quote twice.

“They'll often quote people you've never heard of,” Crimmins says.

Another tip-off is if the column ends abruptly.

Of course that would be a typical New York Times Column anyway.

A massive earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hits Mexico.

Two million Mexicans are killed and over a million are injured. The country is totally ruined and the government doesn't know where to start with asking for help to rebuild.

The rest of the world is in shock and helps out. 

Canada sends Mounties to help the Mexican army control the riots.  Saudi Arabia is sending oil.  Other Latin American countries are sending supplies. The European community (except France, of course) is  sending food and money. 

The United States, not to be outdone,  is sending two million Mexicans to replace the dead ones.

In what some political observers are calling an ominous sign for his cash-starved White House bid, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) today posted his campaign bus, The Straight Talk Express, on the Internet auction site eBay.

Mr. McCain’s denied that the move stemmed from money problems, stressing instead that he had decided to sell the bus so that it would no longer provide fodder for sarcastic headlines such as “Wheels Come Off Straight Talk Express” or “Straight Talk Express: Out of Gas?”

“The Straight Talk Express was giving headline writers too much to work with,” Sen. McCain told reporters. “They won’t be able to do that anymore, now that I’m getting around from town to town on a Segway.”

Davis Logsdon, dean of the journalism school at the University of Minnesota, said that the number of sarcastic headlines riffing on the name of Mr. McCain’s campaign bus had swelled to as many as 7,000 in the last two weeks alone.

“Every morning, newspapers were running headlines like ‘Straight Talk Express Runs into a Ditch’ or ‘Straight Talk Express Has a Flat Tire,’” Professor Logsdon said. “There was even one that said ‘Straight Talk Express Low on Windshield Wiper Fluid,’ whatever that means.”
